Overview

We are looking for an experienced Software Engineering Team Lead to join our team with excellent experience managing software engineers, getting projects delivered on time and to specification, and using the best of breed technologies and practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of highly motivated and experienced engineers
• Deliver high quality, secure, and bug-free software
• Participate in the development of plans, roadmaps and software programs of work, and plan, execute, and manage the delivery of these plans
• Deliver projects on time, to budget, and to specification
• Promote innovation within the team with regards to technologies and frameworks used
• Work with product owners and stakeholders as required

Location: Sydney, Brisbane, or Melbourne

Essential Skills:

• 7+ years software engineering experience
• 3+ years team lead experience
• Experience with the entire SDLC
• Strong experience with Agile and Scrum delivery practices
• Experience working with Atlassian products including JIRA, Confluence, and Bitbucket
• Excellent planning, analysis, problem solving, and organisational skills
• Excellent written and verbal skills

Technologies

• Java 8+
• Python
• C++
• Postgres, MySQL
• RESTful API’s (Jason)
• HTML, CSS, JS
• Javascript frameworks
• Spring / Spring Boot
• Microservices
• Experience with these or equivalent: Bitbucket, Git, Docker, Jenkins, Nexus and CI/CD practices
• Jira, Confluence

Preferred Skills (NOT Essential)

• Puppet, Ansible
• Groovy
• TeamCity
• Experience with AWS
• Experience with DevOps

Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, a technical discipline or equivalent experience
